Walt Disney and Disneyworld

On October 16, 1923, Walt Disney and his brother Roy Disney founded the Walt Disney Company. They found this company in order to be able to create cartoon movies. This company became extremely large, and eventually the Walt Disney Company created live action movies as well as other multimedia products. The Walt Disney Company was extremely popular with just their cartoon movies; however, they have grown exponentially when they incorporated other forms of multimedia. This company is currently located in Burbank, California. This company is number one in the world in the amount of revenue that it makes.

In 1986, the Walt Disney Company got its name, and it has only begun to utilize a wide variety of various multimedia outlets recently. Some of the businesses that this company runs are television shows, a television channel, as well as studios. The Walt Disney Company has also put together theme parks all over the world. These theme parks are enjoyed by a great number of people. At this point in time, there are 14 of the theme parks in the world. In the beginning, the Walt Disney Company created a number of cartoon characters. One of the best-known characters that were created by Walt Disney himself is Mickey Mouse. Since this character is so well known, he has become the mascot of this company.

Walt Disney created Alice in Wonderland, which was one of his first cartoon movies in 1923. During this time, there was not a way to integrate sound into the pictures. The Disney brothers worked in their uncle's garage in order to progress with their ideas. They continued to make progress until their studio became one of the most popular one's in Hollywood, California.

In 1954, the Walt Disney Company first had the idea to make a theme park. They decided that this would be a wonderful place for parents and children to be able to go on vacation and have fun together. A few years later, the first Walt Disney theme park was born. This park attracted people from all over the United States. This theme park was so popular that people from around the world would come to the United States in order to go to it. Disneyland first opened in July of 1955, and in 1965, the Disney World theme park was opened.

Walt Disney passed away in December of 1966. After his passing, his brother became the CEO f the company, and changed the name to the Walt Disney Company instead of the Disney Company. He did this in order to make a tribute to his brother.
