4 Success Habits to Improve Your Life Dramatically
When you study the lives of successful people, one thing that regularly emerges is the fact that they all developed a set of personal habits that served as the foundation of their success.
Furthermore, those habits tend to be fairly simple ones that anybody, including you, can develop in order to pave the way to tremendous success.
The challenge often is that, just as there are proven success habits, there are also failure habits. And whilst you have to be deliberate, intentional and focused about developing success habits, those habits which lead to failure need no deliberate action, they simply creep up on you. Like Samuel Johnson, the English Poet, once said, "the chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken."
So, what is a habit? It is simply anything you do on a regular basis, such as daily or weekly, that has become an automatic pattern of behaviour.
Why are habits important? Well, as Charles Reade put it, "sow a thought and you reap an act; Sow an act and you reap a habit; Sow a habit and you reap a character; Sow a character and you reap a destiny."
In a nutshell, your habit is the bridge between your desire (your thoughts) and your destiny.
Here are four key success habits that will serve you eminently, if you are truly serious about achieving and sustaining lasting success.
1) Learn something new daily in your chosen field of interest. Even if it is learning just one new word each day. Little and often soon adds up to plenty. Learning one new word each day will mean you learn 365 words by the end of the year. And just in case you didn't know, experts have determined a link between your vocabulary and your income level. Generally, the higher your vocabulary, the greater your income.
Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools to help you become the go-to person, the acknowledged leader, in your organisation, your business sector or any other arena of life. You simply have to continually expand your knowledge base in order to remain on the cutting edge of your abilities and to prevent yourself becoming obsolete in a rapidly changing world.
2) Connect with ultimate wisdom on a daily basis - In a world filled with all manner of negativity, cultivating a vibrant relationship with God, the ultimate source of wisdom, through daily prayer or meditation will infuse you with a sense of peace, confidence and wisdom to become all that you can be. Millions of people around the world can verify the truth of this claim, don't neglect it simply because you don't yet fully understand how it works.
3) Have a daily input of success thoughts - read books, listen to audio, watch video of material that empowers you with ideas and motivation to take each next step on your journey to an extraordinary life. You need a daily dose of positive input to counteract the avalanche of negative news, ideas and words of people around you.
4) Maintain a regular physical health regime. You need your body, functioning at optimum capacity, over the long haul, to enjoy longevity of success. Something as simple as walking only 30 minutes each and every day will do wonders for your vitality, improve your attitude and keep at bay many illnesses that arise from a weakened body.
The world needs you to fulfill the leadership greatness within you. You may hold the key to beating cancer, or the next beneficial revolution in technology, or possess the ideas that will transform the global economic landscape from its current doomed outlook into refreshing successes that touch all our lives on the planet in a positive way.
This greatness begins with the understanding that your habits will make or break you, because as an esteemed leader, Dr Mike Murdock once stated, "the secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine."
