The foods that you want to add to your diet include fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, whole grains, egg whites, lean meat like, beef, chicken, turkey and even steak, oatmeal and many others. The key is to eat as healthy of a diet as you can, but do it in 5 or 6 small meals and never in 3 big meals.

The smaller meals more times a day is going to help your metabolism keep working so that your muscles keep building. Also, drink plenty of water with your diet each day so you are keeping your body well hydrated.

A second mistake to avoid is not using the right exercising routine for you. Each person is different and that means that you are going to have to determine the exercise routine that is going to be really effective for you.

You can choose weight training like a lot of other people do or you can choose another exercise route, but the thing to remember is that the routine needs to be specific for you in order for it to be effective. Otherwise, you will be wasting your time and not gaining any muscles at all.

The third mistake that you never want to make is not providing your body with the rest it needs in between your workout routines. You see, the body builds muscles when it is resting and not when you are working the muscles.

Putting strain on the muscles is how you increase them, but when they are being straining during the routine they will not be growing. The body does the muscle growing when the strain is taken off the muscles and the body is at rest.

So you have to be sure that you really provide your body with a lot of rest at night and on the days in between your workouts so you have the best chance possible at increasing your muscles.
