This is such a nice Gibson acoustic guitar.When I saw it over a year ago, I absolutely fell in love with it..It needed some repairs that the shop had done before I got to see it again. The luthier we sent it to in Oregon did a fantastic job. He repaired two cracks on the top and few cracks on the sides of the guitar. They did an amazing job and the repairs don't detract from the beauty of this awesome guitar.
This acoustic guitar sounds truly amazing. The Jumbo Size body projects crystal clear highs and amazing lows. Compared to a vintage Gibson Country Western guitar that I own, this guitar projects a little morethan that one. It has a nice, bold and in your face sound.
The beautiful Spruce top and Maple Back and sides are incredible as is the custom double pick guard from Gibson. You can tell that this guitar has been played allot due to the finger wear on the back of the neck. There are numerous nicks, dings and scratches, but again, that is what you would expect to see on a guitar that is 60 years old.
It sports the original Gold Kluson No-line Tuners with original Tulip Buttons. They still are in great shape and work perfectly.There is a strap button on the lower end of the neck heel which was installed. It's not original, but it is very functional.
The case is something to behold as well.It has mellowed on the exterior, but wait till you open it up and take a look inside. The Pink California Girl Plush lining is beautiful. All latches and hinges work flawlessly and the original handlestill working. This guitar is very rare by just being a 1953 SJ 200 but with the custom double Pick guard, you will never see another like it. It's a truly unique Gibson acoustic guitar.
