The Main Issue Newbies Face In Internet Marketing

by Gary Ganesan

Diving into a completely new industry can be very challenging. Certainly, there are tons of things you need to learn and do, from tested-and-proven strategies to new techniques. From the basics, to advanced, etc. Though there are lots of places online to get all the resources you need, most often than not, reading all the information can easily be overwhelming, especially for newbie.

This entry is actually derived from a question I stumbled in Warrior Forum; a member asked about the challenges most newbie internet marketers encounter in their first weeks in the market. Certainly there are lot of issues newbie internet marketers face, but I think its good that we talk about the most important but often overlooked issue - the information overload. Here's how to deal with it:

Find A Guru

The sheer volume of information and all of the so called "experts" say is enough to frustrate a newbie. There are many ways to learn internet marketing, but most often than not, many of these ways will make you just circle around the bush, leading nowhere. Your best bet it to find someone (or two) that will help you and guide (as your guru) you to your new endeavor and pay attention to what they say. You can subscribe for their service (training, seminars, tips, etc) and spend time learning their way step by step.

Enroll on a Formal Training or Online Education

You can also enroll yourself to a formal training like online education and online training platform that will teach you the ways to online business and the steps you need to take. Of course you should look for the reputable ones and those that are highly regarded for their effective techniques.

Learn the Basics

Though there are no hard and fast rules in doing online business, there's always what we call the "basics." These are tested-and-proven strategies you should abide to help yourself get your way to the industry. Learn the fundamentals and know how to optimize your website and pages. Step by step, you'll be able to pull it all together.

As a starting internet marketer or someone doing online marketing for online business, you have to learn things on your own. Some of these things are pretty easy, while some require learning curves. You can't always hire someone to do things for you, as that would be impractical for your small business. You have to learn basic optimization (SEO), social media marketing, keyword research, writing your own stuff, and choosing the right market. You also need to know how to read the performance of your website through analytics.
