Nearly 30 000 inhabitants has the little metropole Victoria on Mahé, which is also often called the least capital city of the world. The town's landmark is the argentic-gleaming Clock Tower from the colonial time. Other houses tell of the french influence of the islands. Main acces point is the market which is held every saturday. The inhabitants gamble with the salesman for the best price of fish. There is also a big offer of fruits and vegetables there, which isn't comparable to this in European countries. The botanic garden is worthwhile, too. there you can see tropical flowers, and the palmtree Coco de Mer. this special kind of palm you can only find on the Seychelles.
