Exercise is important during all stages of life. But when you are pregnant, exercise can reduce stress, keep your body fit, and help your muscles by reducing physical pains such as leg cramps, back pain, and stomach aches.

You can also learn different types of low impact exercises that you can do daily in order to stay fit during your pregnancy.

Walking

Walking is one of the best low impact exercises that you can do when pregnant. You can walk at home, in the yard, around the block, or at the mall if you choose. It is also fun to find a walking partner. It passes the time quickly and lets you share the progress you make together.

Walking will increase strength in the legs, thighs, and back. You will feel stronger and be more relaxed, which is especially important to keep your stress down while pregnant.

Yoga

Yoga is another low impact exercise that you can do in order to stay fit during your pregnancy. Simple yoga poses will allow your muscles to stretch while calming those inner feelings that are causing you stress.

Stretching

Stretching in the morning and at night time will help you feel better during the day. You will not get as many leg cramps and you will feel more relaxed. If you sit for most of the day, while at work, you should get up every hour or so and stretch, so that you can help the blood circulate in your body.

Learn about other fitness and exercises that are beneficial during pregnancy by reading articles on the Internet or books on the subject. Of course, it is a good idea to talk with your doctor before you start any exercise when you are pregnant.

Knowing how to stay fit will also help you lose those extra pounds after your baby is born. Let yourself feel fit for life by exercising and staying healthy.
