Business Contacts - The Secret Ace Up Your Sleeve
Every business owner looking for long term sustainable and profitable business growth needs to explore every legitimate possible business advantage available to them. While having an Ace up your sleeve might conjure up a negative or unfair advantage in business, it is far from it. Once you've identified where your extra Ace is, then you can really capitalise on this valuable extra asset.
Word of mouth advertising campaigns have been one of the only consistent business marketing strategies to cross over from the Industrial revolution to the new digital revolution. In spite of being bombarded with all kinds of high tech media advertising, word of mouth still fosters a sense of confidence in prospective business contacts, customers and clients.
Given that many economists discuss the 80/20 Principle, which states that in any situation approximately 80% of the 'work' will be completed by 20% of the participants. If you are looking to grow your business via increased sales of your products and/or services then it makes sense to nurture all business contacts to ensure they join your own personal army of independent sales representatives.
In terms of building your own contact network your business contacts are your 'Ace up Your Sleeve' and business social networking is your school. But before you can reap any rewards from any contact network, business social networking or corporate network you have to understand the other 80/20 Principle, which states that you have to invest up to 80% of your time, effort, energy and finance in any contact network or corporate network to recoup 20% benefits.
That's right true success can only ever be achieved from any contact network or corporate network if you give far more than you expect to receive. If we follow the Economists Principle then for every 100 business contacts in your close contact network you can only expect about 20% of them to proactively promote you and your business products and services.
This presents all business contacts with two options.
1. Ensure you foster a fantastic working relationship with these 20 business contacts. Communicate frequently with them. Meet with them often at your business social networking events and ensure they are financially rewarded for being your unofficial sales representatives.
2. Join or attend as many other business social networking groups and events and grow your personal corporate network exponentionally by encouraging new business contacts to join you.
If you don't know it there are one or two new corporate networks and business social networking groups ready to provide you with Aces Up Your Sleeve.
