Get Rid Of Those Rodents!
Rodents can be a major pest problem in both the country and in the city. Most people's worst nightmare is the image of rodents running through their house or running under their feet or even hiding in cupboards while eating one's food! And unfortunately your worst nightmare can easily come true - our houses can be a perfect environment for rats, mice, and other rodents to make a nest and cause a lot of unwanted damage and problems. So if you don't want this happening to you then follow these few tips, so that hopefully you should be able to deter rodents from creeping in and living with you.
Clean House. The most important thing is to keep a clean house. Rodents don't care about what they eat or where they eat it from. Make sure that you clean up any spills and stains soon after they happen. Take your trash out regularly and don't leave any unprotected trash bags out near your house either. Rats can easily chew through and rip the plastic liners inviting all the neighborhood rodents to come and have a buffet of your waste. They will accept your house as being a good place to feed and will try and find a home there.
Repair Holes. Make sure you repair any holes you find. It can be tricky to find out how rats are getting into your house but having a good look round for holes and cracks that lead inside is a good first step. Once you have identified the holes, block them up if possible or make it difficult for the rodents to get in.
Clear Out Foliage. Regularly clear out the foliage around the house. Rodents love to live under cover, and bushes and undergrowth at the walls of your house provides the perfect cover for them. Clear as much as possible of dead foliage away including hedge and tree trimmings that are waiting to be taken away.
Rat Traps. If you have one or two rats, you can simply buy a couple humane rat traps that won't cause any harm to them. You can then take them away from your house and back into the wild where they will be live their life away from yours.
If you have a larger or more persistent rat problem it is best to contact a professional pest control company who will be able to help. They will be able to use products that aren't harmful to you or the environment to quickly and efficiently get rid of your rodent problem.
