These games are available in a more condensed version through online arcades. Old fans of adventure games have gotten together to program their own ideal adventure to share with other fans of a fleeting genre. These are still as tough as their ancestors though. The first thing you will have to do is take note of everything. Adventure games usually live by a simple rule. Nothing is worthless. It will either be a funny note or an important quest piece. Make note of all the little things in the environment. Understanding the types of items available will make solving future problems much easier.

The second thing you need to do is talk to every person. Most good adventure games in online arcades will feature some colorful characters. There are some that will help you, some that will hinder you, and others that will serve as mere background to your grand tapestry of life. You will want to walk up to all of them and talk to them. They will usually have some advice for you or some type of mini quest to get something you'll need later. If nothing else they should at least be interesting to talk to in a good adventure game.

The next thing you have to do is throw out your brain. This may seem odd for an adventure game but you will not want to use your logic. You need to get inside the developer's head and understand where he or she is going with the plot. They made the game and they made the quests. Using your own logic will usually lead to anger and frustration. Using the programmer's logic will make it go much better.

You will also want to try and pick up everything in the game. This should be second logic to anyone who's had experience with the original wave of adventure games. Your inventory isn't usually limited in these games. Just take advantage of that fact and pick up anything that isn't nailed down. If it is nailed down then find a hammer and pull the nails out. There are few things that go to waste in an adventure game.

If all else fails just keep hammering away. The slow and methodical approach of carefully using each inventory item is not something to be sneeze at. If you are truly out of hope than you should take your time and just grind through the tough part. Rub your little items against everything that looks important to the quest until something clicks. It may not be satisfying but you may have to do it.

Adventure games were once at the heart of the video game world. They harbor the best in humor and puzzles to give you a great experience. Keeping these little hints in mind may help you work through their challenging bits a bit faster.
