Most People start a business at an important turning point in their lives. This might include such things as a sudden company downsizing, firing, retiring, finishing school, unexpected expenses, new financial burdens. These are common but very stressful reasons to start a new enterprise.
Successful entrepreneurs usually start a business under less stressful reasons such as to follow a dream, for fun, to earn a second income, to use a talent or skill, after careful long planning. However, to be ultimately successful experts in behavior psychology agree the successful Entrepreneur shares similar characteristics that propel them to success.
The following 7 characteristics were found to be held by most successful entrepreneurs.
1. Natural leaders. Successful Entrepreneurs take the horse by the reins and guide it up the road. They do not sit around waiting to be led around like a flock of sheep. They are usually eager to get the job done.
2. Tough hides. They take criticism well and are not deterred by adverse situations.
3. Decisive. They make up their minds quickly they do not stress over making a decision.
4. Independent. They are very comfortable working alone. They do not need family or company support system.
5. Passionate. They are very passionate about their business. They have pride and confidence in their abilities..
6. Problem solvers. When a problem strikes they confront it and find ways to solve the issue.
7. Confidence. Even in the eye of adversity they exhibit self confidence in succeeding. They do not give up easily.
How do you compare with the above characteristics? If you lack one or two of the characteristics you should consider starting your venture with a partner who possess these traits. If you lack several of the key success traits you might be better off working for someone else.
