The Best Way to Buy Essential Oils

by Jason Cote

We have all been in a Starbucks staring at the innumerable choices; frozen in our tracks with all the different choices we can make. This is the equivalent of what we are faced with when we decide to purchase any new product, especially when we want to buy essential oils for whole health purposes. Be sure to take into account some basic concepts before rushing into your choice.

Just because a product is labeled organic doesn't mean its organic or natural; it only means a company has done the bare minimum necessary to follow the requirements for a standard. With this concept in mind, when you plan to buy essential oils, do research on the brand you are considering. Do they have a lot of satisfied customers or are people looking into other oils for more effective results? Do your homework and it will unearth a truly "essential" oil for your whole health campaign.

To find the best wines, search out wines created by vintners who know the wine-making process intimately. This is the best advice when you want to buy essential oils, as well. A company who grows crops from seed and then distill their crops into oils, are more likely to deliver the highest quality therapeutic oils. This comprehensive knowledge, that is artistic and scientific, will have the goods to deliver what the plant intended to used for. A true essential oil artist will understand that distilling at too high a heat or adding chemicals or using an incorrect species of plant will not deliver optimum results.

Read the label of the oil you are looking to buy either in the store or on the internet. Choose oils that have a plant species name and not some incomprehensible lab gibberish. As an example, menthe piperita is peppermint oil and cedarwood essential oil is cedrus atlantica. If you see something that brings back nightmares of high school or college chemistry, you're on the wrong track.

When you want to buy essential oils, finding a good company is essential for finding a potent oil that will work for you. This concept is also important because a company that is truly creating something to benefit your health will also have the health of the planet in mind. Usually if something has a positive effect on our bodies, it has a positive effect on the earth. Keep your sights fixed on a good company who produces good oils, and they will usually have sound resource management practices.

A little goes a long way with therapeutic oils. You won't have to use five or six drops of peppermint oil to open up your sinuses, one drop will sufficiently do the job. This is great from a budgetary standpoint; you know that they will last if you are conservative in using them. Another thing to consider when you want to buy essential oils is to look for essential oil kits to experience a larger variety of oils at a cheaper price than if you were to buy the oils individually.

Keep the process simple when you want to buy essential oils. Look for a good quality oil produced by a solid company that has your health in mind—if they care about you they care about the planet, too. This is essential advice when looking for the best essential oils.
