Traditional Anniversary GiftsThis anniversary gift guide can help you choose the right gift for your sweetheart. There is a traditional order of gift giving according to the number of years you have been married. Some of these will take a little creative thinking to find one that fits the list. Personalized gifts are always the most special, so buy them when possible. 1st Anniversary- The year of paper. Sound tough? It's not. Write your better half a love letter or wallpaper the bathroom for her. We offer several Wedding Gifts made with paper.2nd Anniversary – The second anniversary calls for a cotton gift. This is a easy one. The most obvious cotton gift that comes to mind is clothing. Get something fabulous and expensive that your spouse wouldn't buy for themself. 3rd Anniversary- The third anniversary calls for leather. Without getting racey here, there are many personal toys made of leather. And of course, wallets and purses. 4th Anniversary- Supposed to be linen. Who wants a table cloth for an anniversary gift?? Well, you could buy a linen shirt or dress. 5th Anniversary- For the fifth year you give wood. A gift basket is an easy choise and they can be filled with tons of goodies. You could go for some new furniture, women love that. 6th Anniversary- This one calls for iron. How about a picture frames or iron plant stand?. 7th Anniversary- For seven years you get copper or wool. Cooper gifts include a piece of art like a scupture. Wool gifts include itchy sweaters. Unless you want to buy a sheep and keep it for a pet. 8th Anniversary- Bronze is for your eighth anniversary. A candleholder or vase made of bronze will work. As will a memorable keepsake being bronzed like a baby shoe. 9th Anniversary- Pottery is for ninth anniversary. This is an easy one. Buy a sculptures or vase. perhaps a new dish collection. 10th Anniversary- After ten years, you get tin or aluminum. How about a jewelry box made of aluminum or a tin gift container filled with truffles and treats. aluminum. 11th Anniversary- Eleven years of marriage calls for Steel gifts. There are more steel gifts than you think. A stainless steel watch, stainless kitchen appliances, stainless picture frames are just a few ideas.12th Anniversary- For 12 years of marriage you get silk. Silk bed sheets are nice if you like that kind of thing. Silk pajamas and robes are also great. 13th Anniversary- Lace gifts are given on the 13th anniversary. I don't know what you could find for a man made of lace. You'll have to use your imagination for that one. Lace underwear, hankies and nightgowns are good gifts for women. 14th Anniversary- After fourteen years of marriage you get Ivory. I think you'll have to try an antique store or yard sale for this one since ivory is not imported to the U.S. anymore. That's all I've got for this one. 15th Anniversary – You get crystal for fifteen years of marriage. Waterford and Swarovski Crystal dishware or vases. A watch or other piece of jewelry with Swarovski crystals in it. 20th Anniversary- Twentieth Anniversary call for China. Just pick a pretty pattern. Not much else to say about this one. 25th Anniversary- This anniversay is called your Silver Anniversary. Silver jewelry, belt buckles, money clips and cuff links are some ideas for silver gifts.30th Anniversary- Pearls are traditionally given for a thirty year anniversary. You can buy a pearl necklace, bracelet, earrings or watch. A little tougher to buy pearls for a guy.35th Anniversary- Coral or Jade is given on your 35th anniversary. Coral bookends, a piece of art made of coral and jade jewelry all work for this anniversary.40th Anniversary- You get ruby on your 40th year of marriage. Once again, jewelry is the obvious gift here. But you can be a little more creative than that. Since you've been married this long you should be full of ideas. 45th Anniversary- Sapphires are given after forty-five years of marriage. Again, jewelry is the obvious choice. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants or a jewelry box full of them all. 50th Anniversary- This is your Golden Anniversary. And as its name implies, you're supposed to give gold gifts.
