Also, handy chargers are available with interchangeable UK, European, American and Australian AC plug bases so you can use your universal charger worldwide. In 2009, an initiative backed by both mobile phone manufacturers and network operators resulted in the production of a universal charger based on the Micro-USB interface for new mobile phones. It was agreed that by 2012, most mobile phones will support the universal charger. Members include LG, Motorola, Nokia, Qualcomm, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
