Russell Crowe the star of Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind and many other films is hiding a secret - he wears special shoes to make him look taller. Russell had women falling all over him at a party in producer Jerry Bruckheimer's back yard - until he took his shoes off. The former boyfriend of Meg Ryan suddenly lost several inches in height. The hunky New Zealander's shoes had lifts in them. Partygoers say Bruckenheimer nudged Crowe, telling him, "Put your shoes back on, you're blowing your image." This coming on the heels of a second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession charge for allegedly throwing a hotel telephone that struck a hotel employee in the face while staying at the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan in 2005. A personal trainer close to Crowe claims russel is under 6ft but around the 5'11" mark that he claims, he sees him in training gear, so he is obviously not going to be in lifts, and ruled out the chance of him being 5'5" (which i know personally is absurd and stupid) as he is 5'8.5". But to list between 5'10.5" and 5'11" is fair, as Im sure for premieres he would wear chunkier shoes to hit the 5'11.5" that he claims all the time. the trainer also said that Russel is a solid guy, and carrys some muscle and bulk on him , and is nowhere near a small man.Crowe won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2001 for his movie "Gladiator."
