The highway will finally connect the North Pacific coast with the Southern Pacific coast and the airport, well that will do away with the 3.5-hour drive from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose to Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific coast. Both projects will have an immense impact on the Southern Pacific region because they will bring something that the area has never really had before…easy accessibility!
The fact that Costa Rica’s government is pouring money into the Southern Pacific coast isn’t the only reason why the South Pacific region is a quickly becoming a white-hot real estate market. The incentives the government is offering to foreign investors—low property taxes, full property ownership, extremely affordable pricing, etc.—is also sparking interest in the Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Additionally, those looking to invest in Costa Rica real estate find that the area provides more options that the other regions of Costa Rica. The Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica is still a somewhat remote area (though there are paved roads, access to utilities, and people already living in the area) so it is less developed and thus less crowded than other parts of Costa Rica.
Perhaps the greatest factor that gives the Southern Pacific coast real estate its sizzle its varied terrain. There are ocean, mountain, and valley views available, all within miles of each other. Those four factors, coupled with all of the government improvements, signify that there is mucho dinero to be made—for the country and those that invest in Costa Rica real estate.
