Holiday loans: Beat the stress

by Aisha Cristal

A couple of years ago, taking off to exotic places on a shoe string budget was the hippies’ domain. The idea of travel was associated with the very essence of the flower power generation. Travelling became a progression, a symbol of the quest of mankind to search for the divine, the intrinsic being. But, this is just one understanding of the concept of holidays. The other trajectory of this concept was reared in the extremely conservative middle class domain, wherein, vacations were meant to be shared with family and loved ones in surroundings which were near enough to give a sense of homeliness. No one knows who came up with this simple divide. Maybe it was a way of professing to different ideologies, or more importantly a way of segregating the classes. But, as we now know, no easy segregation is possible, and the rise of a potent power made sure that this simple differentiation would no longer be possible. Capitalism is a force to reckon with. Mix it with consumerism and you have an unbeatable combination. So, now the concept of ‘holiday’ has undergone a further change. We now have ‘luxury holidays’, ‘yogic and spiritual holidays’ and even ‘cultural holidays’. Where earlier the thrust was more on self-discovery, now, everything is offered in pre-packaged boxes, mass produced to provide instant satisfaction. And if you don’t have enough money to book yourself with one of these tours, don’t fear. Holiday loans are provided by the UK loan market to relive you of the stress of thinking about finances. The real purpose of taking a break will be defeated if the customers are constantly thinking about finances. Although, credit card is there as a payment option, the interest charges on it are sky-high. Holiday loans (claims the loan market) is a cheaper solution to the entire problem. Available to all UK residents, it caters to people with different financial situations. So, technically, you have secured holiday loans, unsecured holiday loans, as well as holiday loans for bad credit holders. Take your pick.
