Anger Management- What Really Works
An illistrative story showing how Anger Avoidance works
Anger Management does not work because people naturally resist being managed. Regardless of that fact Anger Avoidance as taught in a Manualized Cognitive Restructuring Workbook actually does work. The following illustration is an example of what an Anger Avoidance Cognitive Lifeskills Workbook might include.
Jason had multiple reasons to erupt in anger just like Cord. He could have crushed bones, hit guts, cracked faces, bruised breasts or kicked ribs, but he didnt.
Shelly, like many women who were sexually assaulted when they were young, could have opted to be an out-of-the-box, active person, but she wouldn't. She fed her deep-seated anger. She wasted most of her life poisoning all with whom she came into contact. With an MBA and working in a supervisory position in a large manufacturing company, she treated her workers with condescension. She was convinced that they were all unqualified and had to be watched closely and told exactly what to do. She spoke down to and marginalized them while trying to act concerned and interested in their happiness.
