Back to School Paper Needs

by Mark Etinger

The end of Labor Day weekend typically marks the beginning of the school year. With that date fast approaching parents, students and school officials alike are preparing for back to school. One of the most important supplies for the school year is paper. It is used in every classroom for just about every lesson, so stock up now!

Printable paper is one of those items worth stocking up on. Chances are you are going to run through a lot of it throughout the school year. You will be using it for administrative reasons but it can also find use in the classroom as drawing paper. Even if you buy more than you need for an entire school year, it's not like it will go bad! You can use it next year.

What you may want to do is choose a colored envelope and send out all your school's documents in that one particular colored envelope. This will help parents distinguish mail from the school from the onslaught of other mail they receive. Choose a bold, noticeable color and make sure parents know that all official school communications will be coming in such colored envelopes. If your school is in the process of going green you should consider looking into recycled paper. Chances are many of the paper products you use are available in a recycled form. There is no difference in price or quality and you can take pride in knowing you are helping the environment. It is something that parents, teachers and students can also delight in knowing. Using recycled paper serves as a practical example of environmentalism for biology and earth science curriculums.

You are going to want to stock up on plenty of specialty paper and colored paper for art classes, presentations and other creative processes. It is a cheap, simple way to launch a multitude of art projects. Here you have some creative leeway in choosing things your students will enjoy. You can choose parchment paper for creating ancient looking documents or metallic paper for eye catching creative works.

With the school year fast approaching you are going to want to start stocking up on paper now. Buying in bulk means saving both time and money. Chances are your operating budget for the year is not has high as you would have hoped, so save some money when buying supplies. Preparation will ensure the school year gets off to a good start.
