They believe that there is always an better way of doing business • How did it all start? A person turns out as an entrepreneur when he sees there is an market opportunity or when there is a better way of doing that business than the existing model. I saw both in laundry market and started an business related to laundry. Market opportunity is very big in laundry market and there is no well-established company for laundry in India. I saw the reason from Murali and Shyam. So we jointly said "Let's do it in a better way" and started working on the business model for Stainwash. Our mission is to gift more time for customers, so they can focus on the things they love, not on the things they hate to do. • Tell about Stainwash and what you do? We named our company as Stainwash, because we want to remove the existing stains/methods in traditional laundry business and build trust. We provide on-demand laundry and dry cleaning services at your doorstep. Simply place your order in our mobile friendly online website, Stainwash spartan will be at your doorstep at specified time for pickup and deliver back your clothes freshly in 48 - 72 hours. By using our service at Stainwash, you can take rest on weekend and confidently go to office on Monday morning by wearing like new clothes. • Who are your customers and how did you arrive at finalizing your customers? Currently Stainwash is serving major areas in Bangalore. Our customers are everywhere in different age groups because of one reason "Do you know anyone who loves to do laundry manually?" When we started back at July, our initial customers response was WOW and mentioned "Thanks for saving my weekend time". We did not do much marketing in initial stage, all our orders were through organic marketing and by referrals. This gave us confidence to build further and extend our service to other areas. Many laundry startups just focus on existing online customers. We want add more customers who started using mobile and internet. • What is the business model? What are your future growth plans? Our business model is to create an hub and spoke model for laundry for B2B and B2C. We create small hubs in each areas and process clothes in well-established laundry processing centers. All orders will be placed via an single website/app Stainwash.in. Our IT systems are designed to assign pickup/delivery orders for Stainwash Spartan and process it in nearest processing center. Our future plans are to create new hubs in different areas and cites where laundry service is out of reach. We are also planning to add part-time jobs for the individuals who are interested to work for specific time period, so anyone who has free time can do his laundry and earn money. This model works well in the populated countries like India and in western countries. • How big is your market in India? What is the secret sauce? Laundry market in India is massive. In India, the unorganized laundry market is around 2 Lakh Crore market. Only 10% of total population have laundry machines. Cost of using a washing machine is high due to real estate costs, electricity and water issues. On a long term run, not doing your laundry at home is an intelligent idea. Smart people are thinking to reduce their laundry time, cost and spend it efficiently by outsourcing their laundry task to Stainwash. Our business not only saves time, money & space. It also saves water resources, think about the amount of water used for laundry alone in traditional methods. By implementing latest technologies in laundry, we can save tons of water which can be used for other basic needs. We are an eco-friendly service by sending all the confirmation/invoice via email. Throw some light on it as well Our revenue model is very simple, we process the laundry and customer or business pays back in any method. Currently we processing around 20 - 50 orders per day. Indian laundry market is huge, we are estimating 300 -500 orders on a single day in coming months. Stainwash is seeing 100% users growth and aggressively expanding in major areas of Bangalore and in other cities. We have ambitious plans of taking this model to other countries.
