Specific actions and attitudes are expected from all employees. These include punctuality, careful use of privileges, discipline in fulfilling responsibilities at the highest level of expertise, willingness to learn, and cooperation when colleagues need something that will help them fulfill their tasks.

Employers expect employees to sign in daily at office at the beginning work hour and to be performing tasks during your work hours. To be punctual and on time - every time.

There are benefits of doing the right thing. Punctuality lets everyone know that you are reliable. You gain the respect of your manager, colleagues, and the company. Your manager will comment to upper management on your dependability. This could mean a raise and maybe promotion.

There are onsequences of not doing the right thing. Failure to comply with this expectation and multiple warnings will result in automatic termination.

Employers expect employees to be responsible, careful stewards of items, such as computer, phone, or car, provided by the company. In particular, if you have use of a company car, you are expected to drive it at the posted speed limit and with care. Speeding and other reckless driving is not only bad for the company vehicle but very dangerous and a high risk for thecompany. Vehicles are provided as a courtesy and can be revoked at any time.

Benefits of doing the right thing include the convenience of use of the company vehicle.

Consequences of not doing the right thing include having to find your own mode of transportation and all that entails.

As responsibility and tasks increase, employers expect the highest level of professionalism from all employees.

Professionalism includes: attire, appearance, punctuality, commitment, attitude, responsibility, discipline, organization, maintainence of good health in order to perform your job requirements to the best of your ability, maturity, character, conduct, excellence, and competency.

Professionalism is important because it shows that you care about your job and the organization for which you work. It also means a raise and maybe a promotion.

Consistent professionalism is expected with all employees. A lack of professionalism shows a lack of passion for your work and a lack of consideration for others--employer, manager, colleagues, and clients--and will result in termination.

Employers expect employees to distinguish between person and and professional circumstances. If something is work related, you need to contact the appropriate person. If time off is needed for a personal situation, such as a doctor's appointment, inform the appropriate people within a reasonable amount of time and hand in any paperwork necessary before or after the appointment, or both.

Benefits include peace in the office. Confusion and frustration occur if expectations in these and other areas are not fulfilled.

Disregard and disrespect for company policies will not be permitted. Fulfill expectations and you will succeed.
