South Rim
The South Rim is in nearby Arizona, but you'll have to take a short one hour plane journey to get there from Las Vegas. If you are visiting the South Rim you have the option to take a 50 minute ride that covers three rims and up to 75 percent of the Park. If you do want to go to the South Rim, I recommend the flight rather than driving, because the journey is 5.5 hours from Vegas if you take your car or a tour bus.

I always recommend deluxe, because there's only a moderate increase in ticket price, and for that you will get the best experience. It has a larger viewing window than any other helicopter, and it has large seats in a stadium layout so that nobody's view is obstructed. Deluxe tours also include a limousine shuttle service, which adds a little bit of extra value to your already fantastic tour package.
