Building an AdSense Empire
Separate Website Vs.Separate Subdomains?
Building an AdSense Empire Separate Website Vs.Separate Subdomains? by Bill Edwards
If you have content somewhat related to each other ex. home loan, home insurance, home remodeling etc. and the content for each of them is large enough for a separate website..., then is it good idea to have separate websites for each of them or have Separate Subdomains?
And most importantly, how does the search engines look at Separate Website Vs. Subdomains
This is something that a lot of AdSense website owner have been asking all over the internet. And the jury is still out on this issue. I have interacted with some website owners that earn a living or part of their living from Adsense sites. This is what some of them have said.
"I only use subdomains for items like Forums, Blogs, etc.. that are related to the main site but would be more organized if they where separate."
"I registered a domain with a flexible name so that it will work with sub-domains"
"It's a personal choice, I use lots of sub-domains....they get ranked by the SE's just fine as they are seen as a separate site. Other prefer to use a domain for each site."
"If all the topics are closely related to your site theme, then you could have one site."
"If you have niche sites...you need more than one site."
"Putting it in one website, makes it easier for management but some directories and link exchange partner websites don't accept subdomains."
"If it works for you -- and you are making money -- that is all the proof you need that your method is right for you."
As you can see there are many diverse opinions.
To me the question of "Separate Website Vs.Separate Subdomains" is a no-brainer. Separate Website, wins hands down. Why? Looks (read credibility). On the internet credibility is everything. Credibility in your most important product. If you do not have credibility you cannot sell your product, no matter what it is. When we put up a website no one knows really who we are. Yes we can add a picture, email address, phone number, but what does our website say about us.
If you go to a website http://www.usedcars.myplace.com(not a website) you might say hmmmm. Better http://www.myusedcar.com(not a website) it just looks better.
Each AdSense site/products you sell should have its own domain.
One of the most consistent comments I have seen is, "Seperate domains are going to cost to much" The bottom line seems to be the bottom line. COST.
Well lets look at cost.
How much is it going to cost to register and host a 100 or more websites?
Well lets take a little at a time. register 10 domains. dot coms-$7-8.00 apiece dot biz- $3.00 dot info-$3.00 Most all of the really good ".com" domain names are taken. However there are still some good ".biz", and ".info" name available. At one time the online "gurus" said ".com" is the only way to go because people almost automatically type ".com". Well nowadays most people don't type they just click on a link it does not matter what the extension is.
So try someone like registerfly and get a domain name. There are other good domain registration sites. I have been using registerfly for over four years and am happy with them.
Lets say you go for 10 dot info names=$30.00
Hosting, at http://www.article-s.be/gHost.htm you can get an account for under $10.00 a month that will allow you to host an unlimited amount of web sites (true domains) with one account. You will get 5 gigabytes of Disk space, unlimited email account, unlimited MySQL databases, cgi, php, cpanel, just about everything you need to run a internet empire.
So for an upfront fee of $40.00, then only $10.00 a month you got the making of a real AdSense Internet Empire. As you start to make money you can register domains at registerfly in batches and save even more. So much for the bottom line. ============================================== Bill Edwards writes articles on SEO, and autoresponder letters "Content for your autoresponders." http://www.yahoo-busines.com he also has a private membership site and currently accepting free membership for a limited time only.
