Delight Your Guests with Fun Dog Party Games and Activities at Your Next Dog Theme Party

by Gail Leino

Children of all ages will enjoy playing with dog party games and printable activities at a Dog theme party. Children will appreciate the party games because it gives them a chance to run, jump, and expend some energy just like their canine friends during the party. Give children plenty to do with dog theme party games and let the fun begin.

Dog Bone Hunt: This game is ideal for the dog lover in all of us. Hide various dog bones around the party area for the party guests to find. The Dog Party Supplies bones can be anything from real dog bones, dog bone cookies, or doggie treats. The guests at a Dog Bone party will enjoy receiving treat bags(doggie bags) to hold the dog bones in as they are collected. The player with the most dog treats at the end of the game wins.

Dog Agility Course: This fun activity is perfect for the guests that enjoy crawling around and looking for things. Use broomsticks placed on two chairs from players to jump over or crawl under. Cardboard boxes have a million different uses such as opening the box, lying in the ground, and having guests crawl through or jump over. Those who have a large party area are encouraged to use many different obstacles to ensure the dog course is challenging and fun. Another option is to view actual dog obstacle courses for inspiration.

Dog Relay Race: This activity is played much like a crab crawl where the players run around the obstacle courses on their hands and feet. Spilt the party guests into team and have one player from each team start the race. On go, the players must race on hands and feet around the objects, return to the starting line, and tag their teammates and repeat. The first team to complete the course is the winning team.

Dog Treat Tossing Game. We all know that dogs are good at catching various objects in the mouths but what about the human version. Have one player from each team throw to another teammate small marshmallows, cereal, or popcorn in their mouths at a distance. The team who can make the most food items in their mouths is the winning team. Half way throw the time, have the players switch roles so the thrower becomes the recipient.

A dog theme party is a great way to celebrate a family dog as well. Many families celebrate when they first became owners or when the puppy was born with a birthday party style bash.
