Ways to Survive Global Warming
The impact of global warming to both environment and to us is a fact known to many of us. All of us depend on our environment for the ecological processes we and all creatures, from the lowest to the highest order, are part of. Whatever happens to it as a result of global warming is our concern, but before we can do anything to stop or control its destructive effects, we need to understand just what it is and how it occurs.
Global warming is a phenomenon whereby the earths atmosphere near its surface area increases in temperature. There can be two factors behind this, one becoming human-made compounds such as methane gas, chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and carbon dioxide. Identified sources of methane are garbage dumps, natural gas career fields, livestock and wastewater gunge, among others, while CFCs originate from air-conditioners, aerosol sprays and substance agents used for washing electronic equipment. Carbon dioxide, the major man-made contributor to global warming, comes from the burning up of fossil fuels for example coal, oil and gas, as well as emissions from motor vehicles, petroleum-based products and industrial plants.
When these kinds of gases are released in to the air, they become thick the walls from the so-called greenhouse where naturally-occurring unwanted gas of the atmosphere keep. Normally, the heat that comes from the sun as well as enters this greenhouse escapes so as to produce a favorable temperature for that earth. But because of these emissions, greenhouse walls become less porous and trap more heat than required. This increasing heat is now felt on the planet in a phenomenon called climate change.
A second but equally damaging contributor to this phenomenon is ozone, a heat-trapping, naturally occurring gasoline in the lower ambiance. When fossil fuels are burned, they create ozone-containing smog which, again, adds to the heat in the atmosphere as well as makes the earth actually hotter.
There seems to end up being no more stone still left unturned in terms of the disastrous effects of global warming. Intense and unpredictable weather conditions are killing sea critters, compromising agricultural activities, threatening the life of millions of varieties as coastal water levels rise as well as worsening economies by making food more expensive.
Certainly, this is a time once we, as humans, can show that we are still the most intelligent creatures on earth. We all stand to shed with global warming, yet as long as we carry out our share to prevent it, no matter what tiny, we can still desire and work for a much better planet.
