Medically, it is not recommended that you give honey to an infant less than one year old. After one year of age you can as baby's immunity is increased and body gets stronger. Do not give honey to babies under one year old as there is a risk of infection. Honey in newborns can cause infant botulism (in older age, it is of no harm at all). Honey can contain spores of very rare bacteria. This case is rare but one should be careful when it is about health of a baby.
