Colon Cleanse Diets

by Fred Hani

Colon cleansing is supposed to be a natural course. However, because of the high level of consumption of processed foods, alcoholic beverages and unhealthy eating habits in society today, most people need extra help to achieve a healthy colon. Ingredients needed to create a simple effective colon cleansing diets can be easily found in grocery stores; hence anyone can achieve this by a simple change in diets to increase fiber intake. The lack of fiber is the major cause of irregular bowel movement, constipation and improper function of the digestive tracts.

The colon is an often neglected organ in our body, despite its important function of maintaining water balance and fecal matters and absorbing vitamins, minerals, salt and water that are not properly absorbed in the small intestines. If we eat foods that rich in fiber, the digestive system can be greatly improved and elimination of accumulated fecal matters can be facilitated which would lead to a healthy colon. But most of us eat foods low in fiber, therefore leading to flatulence, constipation, and bloating.

The colon is naturally a healthy place for harmful bacteria and intestinal parasites to inhabit thereby increasing the risk of certain diseases when the immune system is weakened. Colon cleansing helps to strengthen the immune system; clears our skin impurities and improve complexion; reduce or totally eliminate constipation; restores energy and aids weight loss.

Colon cleansing is done to help the body eliminate fecal matters and a simple homemade cleansing plan can achieve this. The secret is to set aside a period of three days and gradually increase the fiber content of your daily diet and drink a lot of water. Also ensure that you consume only natural and organic foods during the cleansing program.

For your homemade cleansing diet, follow this simple plan:

1. Drink fresh, filtered water free of contamination

2. Eat green and leafy fresh vegetables that are high in fiber like zucchini, broccoli and lettuce.

3. Eat fresh fruits rich in fiber and free of pesticide treatment like berries, apples, grapefruit, citrus fruits and pomegranates.

4. Take organic supplements high in fiber and psyllium husk.

To improve workings of the digestive system, colon cleansing supplements are responsible for stimulating and toning natural body secretions; and functions of the intestines, stomach, liver, and the colon.

Caveat: Please do not switch to this diet if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition as this may affect the health of your baby. Also ensure that you do not exceed the three days before reverting to a regular diet by gradually and slowly adding meat, grain and dairy.
