4 Main Steps to a Successful Golf Swing - And Other Good Tips
by Ryne Lambert
Many golf enthusiasts and professionals debate whether or not there is a perfect golf swing. It really does not matter to me weather or not there is one, because nobody knows it. No one person has a flawless swing, not even Tiger Woods. He would be the first person to tell you that. The point is that everyone has room to improve their golf swing and lower their score. To improve one’s golf swing, the basics must be done correctly first. Here are the basic steps to a golf swing.1. When setting up for a shot, keep the ball in line with your belly button, and your feet shoulder length apart. Bend your knees slightly.2. Make sure you grip the club correctly. Place your right hand on the club first with your thumb running down the shaft. Then place your left hand directly behind the right hand, thumb running down the shaft below your right hand, and interlock the index finger of your left hand with the pinky of the right hand. Do not grip the club extremely hard. Grip it like you are squeezing a tube of toothpaste.2. When starting your backswing, do not pull the club back with your hands, pull with your arms. It is extremely important to stay relaxed, and let your arms and your left side of the hip control the back swing.3. In the downswing, do not swing with your hands, swing with your hips. Let your hips swing the club through the ball. This will help keep your balance.4. When you follow through, you should be pointing towards your target.Other helpful tips:-Keep your eye on the back of the ball.-Do not think to hard, stay relaxed.-Rhythm is crucial. To have good rhythm through the swing, say something like “Rumpelstiltskin,” or “Golf is fun” to help maintain a smooth rhythm throughout the swing. These steps and tips are just the basics to a golf swing. To improve your golf swing further, more knowledge is needed from a professional.Get valuable information that can shave 7-10 strokes off of your golf score by visiting my blog at http://upgradeyourgolfswing.blogspot.com/.
