Miliband Wants To Work With The Liberal Democrats

by Peter Jones

The Leader of the Labour party stated that Nick Clegg, the leader of the Liberal Democrat party, was a "perfectly nice guy" who had made the wrong decision by joining a Coalition Government with the Conservative party.

I really have to ask my self what planet Ed Miliband is from as Nick Clegg showed clear decisive leadership some thing lacking in the Labour party and clearly acted in the best interest of the country and is to be admired for his bravery and courage in entering a Coalition.

At the time of the election Clegg made it absolutely clear that if the Labour party wanted to form a coalition with the Lib Dems then their leader Gordon Brown would have to go.

Labour were in an impossible position as Brown had not been elected as Prime Minister at a general election and had merely picked up the badge of office that Tony Blair threw down. He had a chance of calling an election soon after his appointment but he did not do so.

If the Labour party had formed a coalition with the Liberal Democrats then a replacement leader would have had to be found. That would mean that the UK would have another unelected Prime Minisiter and clearly that would not have been acceptable to the voters who had clearly voted for change.

The current, Liberal Democrat Conservative, coalition government is a marriage of two party's both of whom have many people with varied talents.

The Liberal Democrats have been able to introduce some of their policies and have tempered the conservative policy considerably so in many ways it is a much better, more rounded, government.

The public should respect Nick for having the courage of his own convictions.

When Clegg was asked to stand up to the plate he did not do a Brown and bottle out he negotiated hard and got the best deal,as he saw it, for the country and his party.

Labour have revealed that they had been looking for common ground with the deputy leader of the Lib Dems Simon Hughes.

Ed Miliband the new Labour leader has tried to distance him self from Gordon Brown and has confirmed that the last Labour Government was far too slow to acknowledge that cuts were required to reduce the deficit.

I am not all surprised that he wants to distance himself,as far as possible, away from the previous PM Gordon Brown and probably the worst Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer we have had in living memory.

The ex Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown was assisted by none other than Miliband junior becoming first a Labour Party researcher, and then rising to become one of ex Chancellor Gordon Brown's confidants and Chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers. This man wants to run the Country he has to be joking!

Miliband was involved in the debacle of selling more than 50% of the UK Gold reserves at the lowest market price in some twenty years.

Labour when in government has displayed such financial incompetence, back stabbing and contempt for the Public that I could not trust them to correctly empty my waste bin let alone tell the true situation of the reason why Britain may go to war in the future.

They can't be trusted it's as straight forward as that.

I in common with many people could never vote or show support for this shambles ever again as they have lost my faith and are no longer credible.
