Understanding Metabolism
The word Metabolism is used repeatedly in the weight loss industry . People on a daily basis discuss their struggles or victories when it comes to increasing their metabolism. You would think that with all this conversation, the majority of us would understand metabolism. There is so much information out there, that there tends to be a misunderstanding of this hotly discussed subject. In some cases people blame their metabolism for their failure to loose weight, when it may not actually be the cause.
As a result people seek to increase there metabolism without necessarily understanding metabolic change. Metabolism plays a key role in the function of the body. That key role is converting food into energy. This is also known as the metabolic process.
This function is extremely important. Your metabolism literally makes fuel from food, giving you the energy to do things throughout your day. This also supplies the energy for your organs to do there daily functions. So when you hear somebody say I have a slow metabolism, ask them what do they mean by that?
So metabolism is not a single process, it is really a process that Sustains the body every second of every minute of your existence, even when you sleep it takes part in multiple bodily functions. Now that you understand metabolism vary your weight loss questions and do not just fall into the frame of mind that I have a slow metabolism.
