One of the most important details that the happy couple have to decide on is what the actual date is going to be. This is usually decided first before planning the rest of it. Some places offer discounts on days that weddings are not normally held. The time of your wedding can also be a factor in the cost. Eg. Having the reception in the morning or afternoon can be cheaper that evening receptions.

You can now decide on the venue once you have set the budget. Depending on the time of year, some venues may even offer a discount. After holidays is a good time if you are on a strict budget. This is 'off peak' time so will probably be less expensive.

It is necessary to agree on the details regarding the guest list and attendants. Decide on wedding invitations. You may even want to get creative and print your own invites. This will add a more personal touch to the invitation.
Remember to start looking for a wedding dress a few months before the wedding. This way, the bride will have plenty of time to try various styles and find one that suits. Also, the groom should think abount hiring/buying his outfit well in advance. Just in case you have trouble with the fitting etc, you will have time to make alternative arrangements.
The bride and groom may also want to think about hiring a wedding planner if they don't have enough time or find it a bit overwhelming. This way the wedding planner will have everything organised and coordinated for them!
