There Is A Way In Which Things Work

by Mohammed Ateeq

There is a way in which things work in the world and sometimes being a scientist means more than just finding out how these things work. It means understanding how they work and upsetting the natural order in which they work. This is the one reason I decided I should become a scientist but I never knew that I would end up destroying the lives of my children in the process. I had planned a lot of things that I would do when they were growing up because I was a scientist who works with computers and programming networks. I can program a great level of AI even on a relatively small processor. I also understand almost every aspect of computers and can code entire manuals into processors and have them respond to problems. I started teaching my kids how to do these things knowing that all of this is going to shape the future of computing but I now think I should have instead introduced them to something small, like CCNA courses.

The thing with smaller courses in a place like the country I live in (you would have guessed which one it is), is that, they are not so advanced in what they teach you and after getting a basic grasp of the knowledge, you can choose the direction that attracts you the most. Since I gave my kids a smorgasbord of knowledge, they could literally do whatever they wanted and that wasn't such a great idea in the long run. They started playing around with networks, making them do strange things like controlling switches and microwaves. The children were developing the AI into an intelligent being and this would not have been something they would have done if only I had had the wisdom to put them up for CISCO certified courses. The boring curriculum would have annulled all ideas of this sort that were born in their heads.

This was also the start of their global ideology. They just turned into monsters of globalization, adopting stances that were incredibly unique even to their demographic. They lost all sense of a regular identity, eschewing all cosmetic rituals in order to become efficient in a sphere of the current world. They were magnificent, scary geniuses and it was my entire fault. They took down networks, built firewalls and created the most incredible series programs that caused shifts in the way the internet is looked at now. They were kings of their realm and they were not even 15. It was scary and that is when I regretted not sending them to a CCNA wireless. But life does play cruel tricks. Luckily, my experience helped me write a curtailment program that they don't enjoy but still understand. I will never play with knowledge like this again and that is the only lesson I am probably taking away from all of this. I hope it is the right one.
