by Linda Hampton

There are various webinar software and services that you can invest in out there. Make sure you research each offering, reading all the fine print. Some of these services have very high fees, others are reasonable, and some are even free depending upon your needs. When evaluating software and services know what functions you need, in fact, create a checklist so that as you're reading you can check off the functionality as you discover it.

"Consider the functionality you might need such as:" -Recording ability -Presentation ability -Desk top sharing -Chat function -Guest voice functions -Co-hosting ability -Number of participants allowed -Polling -Collection of demographics -Ability to charge via PayPal -Tutorials for you and guests

"Consider the needs of yourself and possible guests:" -Does the software require a download -Does the software work on a PC -Does the software work on a Mac -Is the software simple to use -Can the software be accessed anyplace -Can guests call in instead of using a computer? -Can guests use mobile technology?

"Some of the software you can use are:" -Webex -Gotomeeting -Adobe Acrobat Connect -Fuzemeeting -Brighttalk

You can do a Google search or click the links above to read about these software. You can also do a Google search on "Webinar Software" to find the multitude of others. When reading about the different software also keep in mind what you are going to do with the software so you can properly evaluate the functionality of it.

To be clear, there are some guidelines that seasoned webinar experts know. For example, it is important that your audience can hear and see the presentation, as well as ask questions and get real answers on the spot. Other useful tools are the ability to poll your audience during the event and the ability to collect information so that you can drop a follow up survey after the event to help you improve upon your delivery.

When all else fails consider outsourcing components of your webinar; and if doing so would make me more money than "doing it myself". Check into outsourcing: -Webinar set up -Recording my webinar -Transcription of my webinar
