Want to know how you can get into the video game industries? Here's a couple of tips you can try to earn your position making games.
1--- Love the Game. To be able to understand the need of gamers, you need to love playing games. Playing will give you insight on what the general public like. Do also notice the character, quality and sound.
2--- Do everything gaming. Yes. You heard me right. Do pardon the bad grammer, it give you a greater impression on the keyword. Do everything gaming. Beside just playing games, do read, eat and sleep with games. Let your life revolve around video gaming. You can do this by participating in games forums, groups. Buy the latest gaming magazines, or choose the cheaper alternative, subcribe to a free game ezine (electonic magazine). I think you get the idea.
3--- Study the industry. Aways stay alert to what is going on in the field is your road to success. Like I have said, read the latest gaming news. Check out on the new hot PS3 or get to know the development of PS4. It is said that PS4 will no longer need disc. Bet you don't know that.
4--- Determine your area of interest. When you have already accomplised what I mentioned above, you are almost half way in. The next part is about hard work and a little bit of luck. Do find out which area of video gaming you would like to be in. Unless you want to make a game all by yourself, I suggest you go into specific section of game making. If you enjoy fine arts and love drawing, maybe you can take a shot at visual art. If you like math and a technical orientated person, pehape you will give programming a shot.
5--- Study! Study! Study. You might be already doing quite well in programming your own game but have you tried enrolling into a school which teach you to program games. You might be amazed how much you don't know and had missed out. Furthermore, such school will try to source out competition and internship opportunities for its students.
