Avoid the activators of headaches. These include foods and drinks like chocolate, coffee, cheese and wine. Increase your intake of fluids by consuming 1.5 liters every day. The lack of fluids can lead to headaches. Avoid activities that give way to headaches such as overexposure to heat or the sun, reading with improper lights, or in a moving vehicle.
Get enough sleep and sleep on a good pillow and bed. Observe the occurrence of headaches. If you experience headaches in the morning, it could be that the headache was caused by improper pillows. When your neck is not well supported when sleeping, you definitely will have headaches the following morning. If it occurs in the afternoon or evening, this is a sign that you are not getting adequate sleep. Headaches can be triggered by sleep deprivation.
A small percentage of headaches are caused by an underlying illness or injury while majority of headaches are triggered by impingement on the superior muscles and nerves of the neck. Lessening these impingements will give relief and may even result to its complete eradication.
