I want to share with you an over-riding principle in personal training that delivers MASSIVE results - circuit training. For those unaware of what circuit training is, basically, you do a series of exercises in a row to maintain a higher heart rate and thus turn a weight training session into a Fat Burning, Body Pumping, Cardio session to annihilate any barriers you can't break through in your present workouts.

There is however one key piece of the puzzle most people miss as they imply circuit training - you don't do circuit training with your minor muscle groups such as bicep curls. You get results by using what are called compound movements, or rather, movements that involve more than one muscle group interacting at once, which does several things to help you lose fat, get toned and look sleek and slender. What is the big deal with circuit training and why should you use it in your own workouts to get yourself on track and start working smarter, not harder?

1.You burn more calories because you are using more energy (through muscle) to move either your body weight or a physical weight. 2.You will get a better overall toning and muscle building workout (depending on your diet) doing these big movement exercises. 3. Through circuit training you will send your body into a sea of chemical downloads that will pump your body with the needed internal hormone balance to defeat fat-loss and build lasting, slender muscle to work for you all day in fending off unwanted fat storage.

To give you some examples of what compound exercises are, think bench press, pull-ups, squats, deadlifts, sit-ups, etc… Get the idea? A great way to understand this at a simple level is using your major muscle groups to either, push or pull - alternating between both to give the previous muscles worked a quick break during sets.

I want you to understand that this is not theory in some book, rather first hand personal experience of how I lost 60 pounds and gained back 30 pounds of muscle!
