A Great Opportunity For Your Young Entrepreneur

by Thomas Hayes

Summer is fast approaching and as in previous years we see young entrepreneurs begin to make plans as to what they will do to earn money.

While most are still incorporating traditional methods such as mowing yards and washing cars, others are forced to give up their plans of summer business ownership and find a job simply because they can’t come up with a suitable plan of action.

This opportunity is for anyone who has the desire to rise above the average and start their own business.

If you are a parent, guardian, or a big brother type of person who wants to help the next generation succeed, pay close attention to what you are about to read.

I’m going to give you an idea that will generate extra income while giving you some exceptional experience in a field that is destined to be one of the top income producers in the future.

Your customers will be immediately attracted to you because of the uniqueness of your ability and the obvious benefit to them.

You can build small solar panels. When I say small, I mean small enough to carry under one arm.

Hundreds of people in your area would love to save money by getting free electricity!

In the average household there are dozens of uses for solar panels. Most people think that it’s too complicated or just don’t want to take the time to discover how simple it is to build them.

Pre-made solar panels are expensive which means the profit margin is amazing when you build them yourself.

As with everything, there is some upfront costs associated with building these types of projects, but practically all of your money will be recouped upon your first sale.

The knowledge and experience you gain will far surpass your expectations.

Here is my suggested plan of action:

1. Purchase a good quality set of plans.

This initial step is absolutely critical to your success. It is virtually impossible to complete a solar project that looks great and works well without comprehensive plans.

Superior quality graphics and videos lead you in small increments assuring your complete success.

Should any questions arise, technicians are standing by ready to help.

Plans are available for under $50 and come with a 100% money back guarantee.

2. Locate your materials.

You can get solar cells locally or online that are very inexpensive.

Remember to select the "tabbed" cells because they are much easier to connect together. Your plans will explain this in greater detail.

Considering what materials you want for the outer container, go by construction sites in your area.

Go up to the carpenters and ask them if you can have some of the scrap wood laying around.

Electricians most always have pieces of wire and conduit laying around that they will be willing to contribute.

Talk with the roofers about some thin metal roofing and flashing.

Sign shops and other businesses that use clear plastics are excellent places to solicit parts for your solar product.

I guarantee that most, if not all of these construction workers will be more than happy to give you all you want.

If you are a bit nervous about asking, then just look in their dumpsters, but make sure that you only get things out of the trash unless you ask first.

3. Assemble your panels.

Having a huge amount of space is not necessary to get started.

Decide how large your solar panel will be and find a surface where you can lay it flat. Use the kitchen table if that’s all you have.

Basic hand tools are all that is necessary as well.

Your set of plans will give you all the information you’ll need. 4. Promote your product.

Get business cards. You can get them free online at vista print.

You can pass out fliers or go door to door with a ready made panel to show and take orders.

If the people trust you, often you can ask for a deposit, perhaps half of the money upfront so you can lock in the business agreement, but you better deliver on your promise of quality and the time frame that they can expect to receive their panel.

You can set up a display at a local store parking lot. Ask the manager's permission beforehand so you're protected.

Place a bold lettered sign on a folding table stating your product.

Have a working model set up for people to see.

Get a receipt book so you can give receipts for any money you receive.

Retain accurate accounts of your customer's information so you can send them a "thank you" note in a few days. They will share their good experience with their friends. They will be more likely to buy additional products from you in the future.

Parents are trying desperately to relate to teenagers these days. This is a great way to get involved in their lives and know exactly where they are at any given moment. If you get excited about helping your child earn money, they will reciprocate.

How Parents Can Help:

1. Provide a personal workspace for them at home. Assist them in building their first panel using the plans you've purchased.

2. As you build your first panel, keep a list of the parts and sizes of each piece.

3. Cut several individual pieces and let your young entrepreneur assemble them.

If for some reason this is not possible, make a list of the various cabinet shops, electrical shops, and sign shops in your area.

Go to each one and tell them what your plan is and the situation you’re in.

Give them a list of the pieces including the sizes you want cut. Don’t rush them, but ask if they can have some ready for you in a few days.

If they understand that they are helping out a young person, they will be happy to help and more than likely they won’t charge you anything since they will be using scrap and can cut all the pieces you need in a matter of minutes.

Consider how proud you would be of your son or daughter as they demonstrate a working solar panel that they personally assembled.

Older people will immediately be interested and if for some reason they can’t purchase right away, leave them a business card and chances are they will eventually call you.
