Food And Drink To Stop Kidney Stone - Part 3

Only Water Is Water

by Tru Keesey

OK you are, or you have been, or you know someone who is, suffering symptoms of large kidney stone. You (or they) have (or had) pain. It may be in either side of your lower back, it may be in your abdomen, or in your groin. You feel like peeing very often.

When you do pee, it may be cloudy, or it may have blood in it. Perhaps you feel that you want to barf. If it is obstructing and infecting, then you may well get the chills, along with a high temperature.

If your stones are composed of calcium oxalate, then you could suffer from chronic diarrhea.

If your stones are caused by gout, then they are called "uric acid kidney stones." There may be sharp and unbearable pains in other parts of your body, particularly in your big toe or in any other of your joints. Usually it is just one joint. The pains usually begin at night, suddenly and unexpectedly coming and going. There will likely be kidney stone and swelling of your joints, with redness. These are the symptoms of gouty uric acid kidney stones. Read this whole series of articles for natural remidies for uric acid kidney stones.

The actual size of a kidney stone may be anywhere from microscopic to 12 millimeters or larger, which are rare; but an 8 millimeter kidneystone is considered to be large and a major cause for people to desire home remedies for kidney stone pain.

The first thing you have to do in order to prevent kidneystones is to maintain a high intake of water. Yes there are fast remedies that will dissolve yours quickly, and yes they are given in my total program, but along with these, you have to pump a lot of water through your kidneys to restore healthy functioning.

Only Water Is Water

I have come in contact with numerous chronic kidneystone patients who say that they have tried all the home remedies to help pass kidney stones, and still they have kidneystones. I ask them how much water each day have they been drinking. Then they tell me about the teas and fruit juices and sodas that they have been consuming, as if that were water. Or else they tell me plenty of water, sometimes as much as a quart and a half.

They are fooling themselves. While you are in recovery, drink 3 quarts of water each day, more if you work hard or if the air's temperature is high. Do not reckon in anything else besides water. If you drink 2 quarts of fruit juice, then also drink 3 more quarts of water.

Bottled Water, Kidney Stones

People want to know about using bottled water to treat kidney stones. "Bottled Water" is not a single animal, you have spring water, tap water, distilled water. The best water, for drinking, is distilled water, and next after that is spring water. Tap water may do more harm than good, partly because the fluoride is bad for your overall health, and besides that it increases the probability of forming kidneystones.

One thing that you want to be aware of, when using plastic to contain water or food, is extremes of temperature. Leaving them in the sun, freezing

them, or mic'ing them are all no-no's for they cause new and toxic chemicals to form, which would affect your overall health in a bad way. How are you going to know whether your bottled water has been stored in the sun, during shipping, and become overheated, or not?

Vitamin C And Kidney Stones

Just several grams of vitamin C alone, without any other treatment, are enough to rid us of stones that are composed of either calcium phosphate, or struvite. However, don't fool yourself into thinking that drinking orange juice will get you vitamin C, unless you squeeze it yourself. Vitamin C is destroyed by heat, and commercial orange juice is pasteurized by heat, so no significant amount of vitamin C can survive the heat.

If you want to take vitamin C and kidney stones be gone, you must get huge quantities. This would mean squeezing dozens of oranges. Another strategy is to cut fresh pine or spruce needles with scissors, put them into some distilled water or spring water in a glass in your frig, let them soak a few hours, strain and drink the water. That is a good source of vitamin C.

Soda And Kidney Stones

Some people want to ask, "does soda cause kidney stones." It depends on our diet, and it depends on what kind of soda. To alkilinize, replace sodas, rich in phosphoric acid.

There are several pros and cons involving sodas. Firstly, one of the causes of kidney stones is nanobacterial infections. Presumably these occur in an acidic environment. Sodas are replete with phosphoric acid, which is reputedly an acid-forming substance in our bodies. Thus, they would contribute to the formation of kidney stones, IF OTHER FACTORS LEAN TOWARD ACID-FORMING ALSO.

If everything else that you eat is extremely alkaline-forming, and you drink a soda or two, it probably will help more than hurt, but this depends upon which type of soda. Sodas with caffeine are diuretic. Preservatives and artificial sweeteners are bad for your general health, and are also acid-forming.

Sodas with citric acid are also diuretic.

I see that I have given you TMI and have confused you. OK think of it this way. If 1) the rest of your diet is extremely alkaline-forming, 2) the soda is caffeinated, 3) it has a lot of citric acid, 4) it is not a diet soda, and 5) you are getting plenty of vitamin B1, potassium, calcium, and magnesium in your diet, then go ahead and drink the soda.

BUT remember you still have to get your 3 quarts per day (or more) of water besides the soda.

Colas And Kidney Stones

For every type of cola, except coke for kidney stone, see the above. Edgar Cayce actually recommended Coca Cola syrup as a remedy for kidney stones.

When I was but a boy, most mothers in USA had Coca Cola syrup in their medicine cabinets, so far as I was then able to determine. You can dissolve kidney stones with Coca Cola, if they are fairly small kidney stones. Asparagus and coke is a remedy that has worked for everybody who has tried it, in my own experience. I do give you the exact formula in my program, available through my website, however I do not recommend it unless everything else has failed.

For kidney stones, asparagus and coke is not a wholistic remedy, it is full of sugar and caffeine, which leach out the nutrients that your kidney needs in order to return to healthy functioning after the stones will be gone. And the quantities involved are obscene and stressful to your body besides. They would not contribute to your overall health. For this reason I give you more lenient and comfortable fast remedies in my program.

But everybody is different, and there may be a few people with kidney stones, asparagus and coke is the only thing for them. But you, you probably can get fast relief from the gentler home treatment for kidney stone pain.

Meanwhile, I must reiterate for you, even if you are using the coke for kidney stone, keep drinking your 3 quarts (or more) of water, because ONLY

WATER IS WATER!

Kidney Stone And T

You want to drink tea? Kidney stones form in the absence of certain nutrients, so you have to be sure your diet is very rich in nutrition if you are going to have tea. And kidney stones will pass or you can prevent kidney stones with calcium, magnesium, and vitamin B complex in your diet, but the caffeine

and sweetener in the tea will reduce these. So it depends on how good your diet is. Good diet, drink tea, it is a diuretic, and will help. Bad diet, the tea will hurt.

The same goes for kidney stones and green tea. Green tea is a diuretic, and so it will help. But only if your diet is very good, with fresh and raw vegetables, lots of greens, whole grains, and beans. Because the caffeine in the green tea leaches those out.

If you are looking for kidney stone tea, a kidney herbal remedy, you can find vast information all in one place, in great depth in my kidneystone fast relief program, available through my website (see below).

Cranberry Juice History Kidney Stones

The subject of cranberry juice and kidney stones has gone through a couple of evolutions. First the doctors said it was good because it fights the infections that cause struvite stones, and is also diuretic. Later some of them said oops, there is oxalate in cranberry juice. Kidney stones are formed of oxalate (some of them), so you can stay away from cranberrry juice. Kidney stone made of oxalate, however does not increase when you eat more oxalate. You can eat all the oxalate that you want, without increasing your kidneystones.

Therefore, cranberry juice is good. IF your diet is good. Because they put stuff in the cranberrry juice, like sweetener. This leaches nutrients from your bababa bod-bod-body!

Kidney Stones And Alcohol

Can you drink beer with a kidney stone? The answer is the same as with sodas, above. If your diet is excellent and alkaline-forming, then yes. If not, then no.

What about drinking beer to pass kidney stones? Answer is the same. If you are a junk food junkie and a couch potato and you drink a six-pack at a time, then the long range you are going to increase the kidney stones. But with an excellent diet, using only one or 2 beers, it could help, because beer and alcohol are diuretics.

But you must keep up your 3 quarts of water per day in addition to the beer or to the not-beer, depending upon your case.

What About Renal Tubular Acidosis And Kidney Stones?

As an intuitive person, I feel that most cases of this are dietary, though I do not want to go out on a limb and say all cases. You may find that by following the information in this series of articles, both conditions are ameliorated. If not, you haven't lost anything, and probably your general health is better.

Vinegar And Kidney Stones

In using vinegar for kidney stones, be aware that there are different types of vinegar. Distilled vinegar is likely to do more harm than good. Cider vinegar is, by consensus, the best for kidney stones. And vinegar in the store, the commercial brand of cider vinegar, is poor quality, so try to get specialty vinegar, especially if you can get it that has been aged in charred oak kegs.

A tablespoonful of good quality cider vinegar before a meal, with honey, lemon juice, and water, or in salad dressing, has proven to be helpful for many.
