How to Use Opt-Ins and Auto Responders for Optimum Benefits

by David C

There is one thing to build traffic and another thing to convert that traffic to sales. Every marketer's goal is to get as much traffic as they can to their site. Get people to click on your link directing them to your site, and then hope that they'd subscribe to your service or purchase your product. Well, obviously not everyone who gets to visit your site necessarily avails of your service or hits the add to card button but the least that you can get for having much traffic is a good list of potential customers. How? Through an opt-in plugin which is where they input their email addresses in subscribing for your newsletter.

To increase the value of your visitors, an opt-in plugin and a great auto responder service is crucial. Opt-in plugin is that little thing usually at the left or right hand column of the site where you are encouraged to input your name and email address. It usually comes with phrases like "subscribe here" or "avail of our newsletters". If you are someone interested with the product or service offered, or simply wants to gather more information, you are one of those who would gladly input the asked information.

An auto responder is another thing. It is one of the greatest marketing tools available today. It is commonly used to automatically respond to any email message sent to its server. In effect, it allows you to seemingly be constantly at work even when you are not.

Here are some basic tips in using auto responders:

1. Get a great auto responder service - You can find a lot of them online but it is better to ask your fellow marketers to get a better glimpse as to which ones offer great and affordable service.

2. Set it up - The automatic replies are actually already prepared emails. Anticipate queries so you can prepare an automatic and responsive reply. You can also program the time interval at which you would want your message sent. Do not forget to set up follow up messages.

3. Do not spam - Excessive sending of emails to your potential clients would give an impression of being spammy. A spam email would either go to the spam folder, junk folder, completely deleted or would never be opened. You wouldn't want any of your email to fall into that so regulate your messages, timing it perfectly, and only provide responsive and informative answers or messages.

Using opt-in and auto responders is a win win for the marketers and the potential clients. It allows the marketer to provide quality information that is relevant or important to the receiver while the potential client gets that valuable information for free. In effect, the marketer gets to advertise and promote his product or service indirectly or directly depending on how he drafts his email. The potential client on the other end receives a very important information; oftentimes even with a promotional phrase in the end, they would likely accept it with open heart and mind.
