One of the cornerstones of any successful business is lead generation. Any lead that you get is a potential client or sale. Usually referred to as "potential buyers" or "potential business partners", you know what we are talking about. Whatever you choose to call them is up to you. The main goal is to bring in more of them each and every day. Easier said than done, usually newbies in the Internet Marketing field have a problem with this. So if you have products or services that you offer on the Internet for sale, these quick and dirty methods can help you start generating leads today.

If you can give your client something they can hang up and look at each day, this is a good start. This works especially well for Internet Marketers who are offering services. One of the best things to create is a calendar which is not only decorative, but will be used on a daily basis. More than likely, each time that they use the calendar, they will have to think of you because they will see your logo on it. By giving this away for free, you hook them! You need to give something away. If you don't, you will have to spend more time doing lead generation. When you give something to someone, they always remember. Advertise your product or service. Often people get so caught up in the right way to generate leads, they forget about the most basic method of all: straightforward advertising. One outlet for your ads would be in your community newspaper. You should also consider posting ads on classified websites. Although you will have the initial investment to pay out on the advertisements, once your ads have directed people to your site, you will reap the rewards. Advertising is the best way to make people aware of your product or service and it is quite efficient in this regard.

Be willing to jump on the phone. Cold calling might seem a bit old-fashioned to some people these days. In reality, cold calling can be a highly effective way to generate new leads. Call the business owners in your area who you think would benefit from your product or service and offer it to them. Let them know you're happy to help out if they require it. Make your call short and to the point and people might just be happy to deal with you. Yes the phone is often seen as something that no longer is necessary, but that one phone call could drum up lots of business!
