Secrets to Writing Better Content and Headlines

by Lynne Saarte

There are two things you need to improve on if you want your marketing material such as your color brochures to be effective marketing tools for your business. These are your content and your headline.

In addition to great pictures and images in your brochure printing materials, what you have to say in your print ad gets the attention of your target market. In fact, your words can make you a keeper in the eyes of your clients and prospects.

Let’s start with your content.

The key to having an effective copy is to understand your objective of writing it. Each section in fact of your content has their own functions to perform which leads to your expected end results. Is your aim to launch a new product or service? Is it about improving your image to your audience? Or is it to sell your products and services listed in your color brochures?

If it’s the latter you’re aiming at, the most effective way to sell your business is to essentially talk to your target client and prospect, and then to encourage them to go one step further, which is the buying process. Your content not only should be able to provide your target readers with enough information; it should also be able to get your readers to act on your message. Be it a direct sale, something to inquire about, a consultation, or even a free trial; the bottom line is to get them to respond according to how you want them to act.

On the matter of your headlines, they are the first element that makes your target readers to stay or simply walk away.

Your headline provides that relevance and value to your copy. Because it’s the first things that will catch your readers’ interest, you need to provide an appealing string of words that would let your target audiences know of your business’ benefits.

A great headline not only grabs your target readers’ attention. More importantly, your headline should be able to convince them that you’re worth taking the time out to get to know more of your information.

So how do you provide your advertising brochures with effective headlines? Your clients and prospects should be able to understand your message as quickly as they can. Remember that your audiences have so many things to do and so much information to occupy their minds. That’s why your headline should be able take their minds off for even a few moment to be able to concentrate on what you have to say.

In addition, you should be able to convey your facts as directly and as clearly as possible. It’s all about your facts.

Always remember to not make it difficult for your target readers to get to your message. The bottom line is to have them to stay with your ad so they can get to know more of your business and eventually convince them that you can provide the solution to their problems.
