by Kitz Lerqo

Teens that range from 12-18 years old have at some point experimented or drank alcohol. The sad part is Four out of 10 kids will probably develop an alcohol dependency as they grow old. Teenagers who carry on with their alcohol addiction through their later years would likely go through it's side effects when they reach 20 years old. Some might experience having random severe headaches, sleeping disorders or mild depression which is brought on by their particular addiction to alcohol from a young age. There are various kinds of teens who are likely to develop an alcohol dependency are those in search of new thrills, teens from broken families and curious teenagers. Here are some of the reasons why teenagers develop an addiction for alcohol.

Studies show that about 30-40% of young adults consume alcohol out of curiosity. They wish to know what it tastes like and what they will feel after they have drank some. Additionally, there are other students who don't understand the feeling they get once they consume alcohol the very first time. This is why they consume a lot more to know why they would feel a certain way whenever they have alcohol. For this reason, treatment centers and alcohol rehabs know the best way to deal with and treat teenagers who may have early indications of addiction to alcohol.

Teens do not know how to distinguish the different types of alcoholic beverages. They don't know that these different alcoholic beverages have different amounts of alcohol content. Beer has much lower alcohol content than gin or vodka, beer has only 3-8% alcohol content while some gin have a 40-50% alcohol content. So teenagers who combine their drinks would quickly get drunk and may easily develop an addiction for alcohol should they consume it regularly. That is why it is best if they get help for their addiction from alcohol rehab centers and treatment centers as soon as possible. This way they won't experience the long term negative effects of alcohol dependency in the near future.

The long term effects teens experience when they start drinking at an earlier age is they would likely have an alcohol addiction when they reach college. They would not only suffer from its long-term effects such as developing mental disorders, they're also prone to drug use. Research shows that 60% of teenagers who experimented with liquor at an early age would probably experiment on using drugs also.
