Modern Convertible Sofas

Picture this: your in-laws are visiting. And they’re not just visiting for a short period of time; they’re visiting for two weeks. And they are staying with you and your spouse. If this wasn’t enough to make you a panic a little, this is: you only have a bed and a sofa. This means you don’t have an extra bed for your in-laws to sleep on. What’s the solution?
This may seem like a difficult situation, but in reality there really is a quite simple solution: buy a convertible sofa. With a convertible sofa, you can have the elegance of a sofa with the practicality of an extra bed.
Now, the most polite thing to do is give your in-laws your bed and have you and your spouse sleep on the convertible sofa. But once your in-laws give the convertible sofa a try, they won’t know the difference between a regular bed and the bed that lies within the convertible sofa.
A convertible sofa has many advantages. This kind of sofa has three basic functions: being a sofa, being a bed, and being a storage space. The bed part of the sofa is stored within the sofa itself. One of the best parts about a convertible sofa is that the bed part is stored within in the sofa; you don’t have to store an additional bed in your closet or another inconvenient location.
The bed part folds up within the sofa. All you have to do is pull up the bottom part of the sofa (as if you were taking off the cushions). Do this until you hear a click. Once you’ve heard this, you then pull the bottom part straight out from the sofa (away from it). From there, all you have to do is continue pulling it out until the bed is completely straight. And, voila, there’s your bed.
Most of the beds in convertible sofas can also keep the sheets, covers and pillows within the storage space, so that you don’t have to make up the bed every time you pull it out.
When you’re looking for one of these sofas, you will have many choices to pick from. They come in a variety of colors, designs and fabrics. Convertible sofas tend to have a very modern look about them. They usually have smooth easy lines and typically come in the colors black, red, white or off-white.
Convertible sofas are usually made of either microfiber or chenille. Microfiber is a blend of the materials polyester and polyamide. Fabrics that are made with this blend are incredibly soft and hold their shape particularly well. This is also a very strong fiber that can be cleaned rather easily.
Chenille is a type of fiber that is named from the unique process in which it is created. Such fabrics like wool and mohair get their names from these fibers that they’re made of. The actual word means caterpillar in French but is made by wrapping short lengths of fabric around a tightly wound core of yarn. Chenille is usually formed from cotton, but can also be made using rayon, olefin, and acrylic.
Having a convertible sofa is an extremely useful and needed piece of furniture. It has multiple uses and can fit in nicely in a modern household.
