How To Avoid Buying Dodgy Weed Seeds

Popular products always invite illegitimate vendors...

by Sam Qam

Cannabis seeds are a very popular item for people to collect. For this reason there are many people and websites out there which will offer you seeds and after taking your money will either close the website, cut all communication with you or send you something which is definitely not a cannabis seed. Sad as this situation may be, it does happen and the only way you can avoid being a victim of this scam is to be vigilant and to take steps to minimise your vulnerability.

Trusted Website

The first thing you can do is to only buy your seeds from a legitimate website. You can tell if a website is legitimate normally just by looking at it. If it looks like a professional website with good content and a proper ecommerce shop then it is very unlikely that it has been put together to scam you. If however you find yourself on a website which looks very basic, with only one page with a list of seeds on it, then you should think twice about using it.

Research

If you are not sure you can do some research into the website by entering its name into a search engine and seeing if anything comes up for it. By filtering your search by 'news stories' or maybe by 'forum' you should be able to find some conversation or news about it. Obviously if the conversation says 'this is a scam' or 'this seed website is rubbish' then don't use it.

Ask A Friend

If you know someone who has bought weed seeds before, using a site which they have already bought from is a safe way of choosing a site. They will also be able to tell you if the products they sent were what they ordered and if they think it is value for money.

Guarantees

Any decent website worth its salt will offer you a guarantee on its products. This should go something like: 'if you are not 100% satisfied with your cannabis seeds then we will replace them immediately' or they will guarantee delivery and hopefully the security of your bank details too. Feminized seeds that are sold should also be guaranteed 100% feminized.

Contact Details

A final way to check a seed site's legitimacy is to see if they have their contact details (including an address). Giving you their address is a sign of trust from them and lets you know you can trust that they really do exist.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the only way to know if you really have what you paid for is to grow your seeds...and that's illegal.
