How NOT to Become a Millionaire
So you want to make money through the Internet, huh? Everybody does, or everybody claims he does. Every now and then a page pops in your eyes presenting another millionaire, who is “stupid” enough to share his secret with you. He also claims he can do this in one day, or even few hours! Well, actually he can… Only that the millionaire will be... himself again! Ok, now let’s see how these guys work. Having a site is all they need to start. Most of them are registered to free servers having their site hosted at no cost, with just some ads in it. No investment is all they need to start taking your money. Or at least try to. Now, let’s examine this “what’s your site address” issue. Suppose you walk on the street. Suddenly a homeless man appears asking for your little penny, promising to make you rich. For just one penny! Will you trust him? Would you ever gave any money to invest on behalf of you to someone who doesn’t have a home? Of course not! If he can’t afford a home himself how can he make you rich? Something is wrong you are right! How come a “millionaire” doesn’t have his own domain? Can’t he afford the $10 in order to have his own web site address? He is supposed to be rich and teach you how to become one, remember? So, the first thing to watch when you come across to such sites is the obvious. Having their own domain name. The next thing they do is to build their site, at no cost of course. With a little html knowledge they build a simple, one page site with many bold letters, blinking links, or even they copy some ready free one page templates. Now, let’s see it in real life. You have some money to invest. You walk at the street and you see a road full of investment and promising to make you rich companies. You decide to enter one. When you walk in what you see is walls that need painting, dirty carpets, broken furniture and a bunch of signs with neon lights asking for your money. Would you ever go with them? It’s obvious, that with such a mess, they aren’t rich themselves. How come, they can make you rich? So, the second thing to watch is the site layout and appearance. Real, full of content sites. Third to come, the comments. A site full of “happy customers” that thank the site owner who made them rich. There are no real comments of course. Cause all these people are the same. The owner himself. If you ask for their e-mail address they claim that their data are private and they cannot share them with others. But here they are. People from all over the world who became rich thanks to this site’s advice. Back to reality again. You have invest some money at the stock market. One day a broker calls you to give you an inside info for a stock that is about to rise unexpectedly. Before making any move you decide to call some friends and check if they know something. After few calls you realize that the “inside info” was a pure hoax. Everybody knows about this! And of course everyone gave his money to the broker. So, would you ever let someone who shares his secret with everybody to make you rich? If this is a secret, he shouldn’t share it with anybody. Otherwise it’s priceless! So, the third thing to watch is the popularity. The more people they know about the secret, the less accurate the info is. Fourth of the tactics comes the advertisement part. Most of these sites are full of ads, either from the free hosting provider, or from other similar sites. Some of them have also ads from porn or Multi Level Marketing sites. The MLM sites, are not scam but they are not always legitimate. Also, the ‘millionaire” sites, are often advertised in low-quality sites, pop-up or pop-under or appear when you exit from another site. Watch out, all these banners, generate revenue to the site owners. Back on the streets again. I believe that many of you have seen cars with advertisements on them. Private cars, with ads from various companies. Do you think those people are placing these ads on their cars for free? They are paid quite well. Well, now what do you think? Would you ever put an ad on your car if you weren’t desperate for money? Would ever a millionaire put an ad in his car? Of course not. He would probably own the company who was advertised! So, why a millionaire has low quality ads in his site? Doesn’t he make enough money from his secret? So, the fourth thing to watch is the ad load. The more the ads, the less legitimate the site is. Last but not least the payment. A paypal or e-gold button is placed within various spots of the site, asking for little money from $1 - $10, maybe even more, in order to reveal its secret to you. The amount they ask you is very little so, you won’t have to think twice before you give it. One simple street example again. While walking, you see a poor person asking for you little penny. Without even thinking it twice, you give him whatever you have in your pocket. It’s probably a dollar or so. Few meters later you want to buy a train ticket. Putting your hand in your pocket you realize that there’s nothing there. Yes, you gave the money to the poor person. You cannot ask them back. You decide to walk home, when you see the poor person in a cab, passing next to you. Yes, it’s the one who asked for your little penny. So, asking for a little money from many people makes it easier to collect a good amount than asking more money for fewer people. That’s a market rule, and the “millionaires” know it. So, do not ever spend even a penny for such sites. Put your penny in a jar and buy yourself a gift. That’s better and that’s real. As a conclusion there’s only one thing to remember. NO real millionaire would ever share his secret with you. Do not trust anybody in the Internet whom you wouldn’t trust in your real life. Virtual reality, is reality after all!
