Nine Simple Steps To A Captivating Restroom For Your Holistic Healing Clients
Have you heard about the toilet made of gold? It is on display in Hong Kong at the Hang Fung Gold Technology showroom.
Now your office toilet may not be made of gold, but you sure do want your clients to feel like it is! It will never cease to amaze you how much a single client can scrutinize a place like a restroom and judge you as a healing professional based upon the cleanliness of it. Your best bet is to always keep it sparkling clean.
Although, for most of your clients, a restroom is just a place to relieve themselves, but for some, your restroom will close the deal as to whether they will stay as your client or not! Since holistic healing professionals like chiropractors, massage therapists and acupuncturists, utilize physical contact in their healing, your clients may conclude if your restroom is dirty, then you may be unclean and they won't want you to touch them.
Take the opportunity when a client is utilizing the restroom to make an excellent impression with a clean restroom! Give your clients every reason to be impressed with it. Make them feel comfortable.
Follow these nine steps to make sure your restroom is always in tip top shape.
1. Keep your restroom clear of any clutter so your clients have room to move about. Your clients don't want to think of your restroom as a storage closet!
2. You may want to consider doing without knick-knacks since they become very dusty and dirty quickly, but if you would rather have them, be sure they are cleaned often. Set up a schedule to regularly clean all pictures and other decorations since they are easily forgotten about during the normal workday.
3. It should go without saying, but be certain all sinks and toilets are scrubbed and wiped regularly. They should be sparkling.
4. Be certain the garbage can is emptied regularly; an overflowing garbage can show it has been quite a while since someone checked the restroom for any issues.
5. Always keep the mirror cleaned; a clean mirror isn't usually noticed, but a dirty one definitely is.
6. Make sure the fan is working if a fan is installed. A fan can provide enough noise for your clients to feel shielded from embarrassment, if necessary.
7. Provide a way for your clients to cover offensive smells if they need to do so.
8. Keep your bathroom well stocked with the essentials: toilet paper, tissues, soap and anything else with which you may want to spoil your clients.
9. Prepare a restroom cleaning checklist for your staff so no detail goes unnoticed when checking the restroom. Larger chain stores implement this successfully so you can too!
A well stocked bathroom will show your clients you are thinking ahead and prepared. It is easy for a client to find somewhere else to do business (no pun intended!) when they leave your facilities with dirty hands after they left your restroom because there was no soap. They will also wonder if you washed your hands the last time you used the facilities and before you touched them!
Your restroom is also a place where you can go above and beyond for your clients! Don't just offer soap, but offer lotion as well. Have a discreet location for feminine products, but one that your female clients know about. Any woman in a pinch will greatly appreciate this convenience. Also, for women, please consider a garbage can that has a lid that works with a foot pedal so they can discard their feminine products without embarrassment.
If you really want to go above and beyond, consider having some spray deodorant, and some hairspray available. If you are truly promoting healthier living with your clients, you can place samples of the natural products you recommend so they can test them out before purchasing those items. Remember, all the little extras give you big bonus points with your clients.
By providing your clients with the best restroom you can, your clients will have less of a reason to go elsewhere. They may even skip some errands and go to your office if they need to use a restroom! When your clients are choosing your restroom over others, you know you've done a great job captivating them.
Although you may not have a toilet made of gold to offer your clients, if you can master having a great restroom to offer them, you'll be well on your way to giving them every reason to stay your client and refer others!
