10 Secrets For Successful Article Marketing
Now that you have your website all set up, you’ve got to promote it. One of the best techniques to market your website or product is through article marketing. It is free and the articles that you write today will continue to produce results for many months. Following are 10 secrets to achieve article marketing success. 1) Use a spelling and grammar checker. Nothing turns off a reader as much as repeated misspellings and grammatical errors. You can easily avoid this by running your article through a good spelling and grammar checker. These programs come with most word processors today; use them.
3) Develop a compelling title. Your title is the advertising for your article. A boring title will generate far fewer page views than a good title. Spend some time on developing a title that grabs your reader’s attention.
4) Target your articles. You will gain a valuable following of repeat readers if you give all of the details on a very narrow subject rather than broad generalities on a number of subjects.
5) Keep your articles short. In most cases, the ideal article should have between 350 and 600 words. Readers did not click on your article to read a novel. Be brief and to the point.
6) Avoid shameless self-promotion. Nobody cares about where you went to school or your two ugly kids. Use the resource box for links to your website or products that you recommend. 7) Give readers what they want. Research your previous articles, if one particular subject got 50% more page views, write additional articles on the same subject. Make sure you provide new information, don’t just re-word the same information.
8) Never plagiarize. Do NOT copy another author’s work. It is illegal and can have severe penalties. It is also the easiest way to get banned from everywhere. Don’t do it!
9) Play by the rules. Study the submission policies provided by the sites that you submit articles to and abide by them.
10) Do your research. If you are stating a fact, cite your source. If it is your opinion or a guess, say so. Don’t spout off your opinion as if it was a cold hard fact.
