Cape Verde government expects 1 million tourists in 2015

According to official statistical records, visitors to the Cape Verde islands increased by over 23% to 230,000 compared to last year. According to Ms Fontes-Lima a cabinet spokeswoman, should numbers continue to rise at the projected rates, as many as 1 million visitors to the archipelago could be expected annually. Further revelations report a $300 million (USD) public infrastructure projects approved in 2006. The Ministry of Economy is pursuing a fast-track implementation programme for the infrastructure investments that will enable the islands to support and benefit from the already rising tourist trade.
With the increasingly popularity of Cape Verde, not only is the Praia government initiating popular debate for the islands as a popular tourist destination, the overseas property community is starting to acknowledge the potential of Cape Verde property as an emerging investment property market. Clearly property in Cape Verde is set to be one of the most successful investment property markets thanks to the recent further expansion of direct international flights to the archipelago from Germany, UK, and Denmark. Considering the recent developments, projections for visitors to Cape Verde could well exceed the 1 million visitors government estimates.
