Walking Dead Comic Book Comes True

by Sean Michael

It appears like I have been on my own for many years, but I know it has only been a few months. It lastly but not least happened, just like the Walking Dead Comic Book sequence. A few months ago I was doing time in jail for battling in a bar. To make issuesworse when I got into jail I got into a struggle with an additional inmate and got thrown in the hole for 5 days. It was not bad in the hole; actually I liked it. I am a loner and usually have been. I like my own company. Then a thing happened, and life as I knew it changed permanently.

After the second day no one was bringing my food. I was at the far end of the jail and definitely all alone, but On the 3rd day I could hear screams of terror. There was so much noise, gunshots could be noticed all day, and then it ceased. On the 4th day the power went out, one thing gave, and my cell door opened. I stumbled out of cell in the dark and tried desperately to find my way down the hall to daylight. As I passed through the double doorways that led to the main cell blocks I tripped over some thing. In an moment everything I had read in the Walking Dead Comic Book flashed before my eyes.

As I felt in the dark my hands swept through puddles on the ground. I thought to myself that there must be a water leak. It was then that one hand brushed across what felt like a flash light. I picked it up and turned in on much to my dismay. I was standing in puddles of blood. I started sweeping my light and everywhere it seemed there was more blood, but no bodies. It didn't make sense to me and then I started thinking about the Walking Dead Comic Book subject matter; was it coming true?

I started searching for the exits. I saw no sign of life anywhere in the jail as I made my way to the outside world. When I walked out the door in the dark I observed a parking lot full of cars, but no individuals to drive them. I made the decision to check out the cars to see if I could get one started. The initial car I came to the door was open and the key was in the ignition. Once again blood coated the area. I set down in the driver's seat and turned the key and was very happy when it started right up. It was then that I noticed moans and grunts coming from across the parking lot. What I saw next was a page right out of the Walking Dead Comic Book.

It truly was the Zombie Apocalypse. Zombies were walking right towards me. Some were guards and some were inmates. I slammed my door shut and tried to get away from them, but they were everywhere. I had to run them over one after the other. I managed to get to the main road and I drove hard and fast. That was two months ago. I have been on my own ever since. Everywhere I go is death, destruction and zombies are everywhere. The Walking Dead Comic Book had come true, and I had found the loneliness I had so often sought. I knew my journey was just starting.
