Helping Your Heart With Food

You already are certain that you must have a strong and healthy heart. Here's something for you to think about: if your heart is unhealthy then the rest of you won't be healthy. You already know that daily exercise and a healthy lifestyle are imperative in terms of the general health of your heart. But did you know that there are a number of foods that have been found to help you improve the health of your heart? Beans--would you believe it?--are really good for your heart. Sure, the after-effects of consuming beans could not be the best for your nose, but they are so healthy for you. This doesn't mean that simply eating beans will neutralize the effects of other unhealthy foods you might be ingesting. What is true, however, is that having green beans on your salad instead of chicken or eating soy burgers instead of beef hamburgers is a good course of action to take. The good news is that beans taste good--good enough that you are likely to not miss consuming beef or chicken.

Blueberries are good for helping your heart be healthy. You should know that blueberries are a rich source of antioxidants, particularly pterostilbene. Pterostilbene works just like the resveratrol in grapes. This specific antioxidant can help your body improve its ability to break down the fat and cholesterol you take in. The easier it is for your body to process fat and cholesterol, the less likely it is for those things to clog your system and cause problems for your heart. That, basically, helps your heart be healthy.

Be aware that is one of the healthiest meats you can consume. You're probably already aware of this because your health care provider has told you to consume some fish two times or threee times every week. This is particularly true for those whose hearts are unhealthy. Fact: Fish contains lots of Omega 3's which work to process cholesterol and transform it into healthy energy. Eat fish twice a week.

Do you remember when your parents would tell you an apple a day keeps the doctor away? Apples contain lots of minerals and elements that keep your heart healthy. Appleas contain lots of soluble fiber which functions like a scrub brush on your artery walls so that cholesterol can't amass and build up into blockages. The truth is that eating a single Red Delicious apple daily can cause as much as an eight percent decrease in your bad cholesterol levels. This is an awesome number for somebody who wishes his or her heart to be healthier.

There are lots of foods out there that that are great for your body. It's true that everything brought up in this article can help your body in a variety of ways. They are essentially terrific, though, for keeping your heart as healthy as it can be. Begin consuming these heart-healthy foods regularly. Your heart will thank you!
